Region

Gorgeous mountain backdrops, steep canyons and lush mountain meadows, coupled with Swiss hospitality – this is what characterises the region and makes it what it is: a paradise for mountain bikers. Add to that a mild climate with strong southerly influences – which manifests itself in a relative dryness and lots of sunny days – and you’ve got the perfect weather for biking.

Savognin, the principal community in the Surses (Oberhalbstein) valley, is situated in the canton of Grisons with a year-round population of around 980. The main languages spoken here are German, Italian as well as Romansh, which is typical of the region. Famous towns in the nearby surroundings include Lenzerheide, Davos, St. Moritz and Chur. Mountains like Piz Arblatsch (3,203 m) and Piz Mitgel (3,159 m) dominate the landscape.

The region offers a wide range of attractions and activities. Churches and castles, a large nature park, countless hiking trails & mountain bike routes, a highland moor, fun sports, a forest ropes course, tennis, a bathing lake, climbing and lots more – all of it is waiting to be discovered.
